Spring is Coming!

Here are 3 easy ways to make your home feel like spring this season!

1. Crack open the windows! Nothing screams spring like fresh air. This is also a great time to wash your windows and your curtains! (Have you gotten your copy of my Homeowner Checklist? Drop your contact info and I can send you this month's list of monthly tasks to maintain your home!)

2. Swap linens. Exchange your heavier, winter fabrics for light colored cotton. Throw pillows, throw blankets, hand towels, and your sheets are all great places to do this!

3. Purchase a fresh bouquet of flowers from a local florist, here are some great recommendations:

Daffodil Parker was my wedding florist and I'm obsessed. Modern blooms in unique arrangements that…

Just in time for Valentine's and Galentine's Days, here are my suggestions for the perfect date night in Madison...

For the Girl's Night Out (aka Galentine's Day), I recommend the unique cocktails and killer vibe at Mint Mark. Then head to the square for an awesome dinner at the recently renovated Merchant and dessert (and more cocktails) at Lucille! Lucille late night brings in DJs for a great dance party to end the night!

For the Adventurers, check out the classic hole in the wall dive bar in Westmorland - Village Bar - try the Burger and don't forget the Fries. Next head to the West Side staple, Ultra Zone, for some lazer tag because "Why Not?" and end the night with drinks at the electric bar, Le Tigre Lounge off Midvale.

So far they have discussed layoffs, work and mental health, career change, and interviewed some amazing women in business, politics, motherhood and the culinary world, sharing stories, life lessons, and so much more. I am so inspired by them! Here's…

Join Alison, Solveig and Anna Wise from UWCU for a "First Time Sellers" happy hour on Wednesday, November 2 at 6:00pm where we'll answer all your burning questions about selling for the first time! "first time sellers." This will be a casual conversation for questions and answers to help you get started and plan for your sale & move! Here are some of the tips & questions we'll be discussing:

1) Start early. When you're selling your home and buying a new home at the same time, you need to make a plan for timing - what time of year do you want to move? When are you going to get the most money for your home? What fixes or upgrades do you need to make before selling? When you start planning early - at least 6 months before…

Solveig Splash Pad 1) I have to start in my hometown of Stoughton at the Nordic Ridge Splash Pad. It's primary color theme is bright and inviting as it's really a "neighborhood" park it's NEVER crowded (still!)/ There's an awesome accessible playground right next to it with two covered areas for parents to enjoy the shade and keep an eye on the kiddos. The huge green space is wonderful to run around and roll down the hill too! This summer the Stoughton Public Library and Stoughton Parks & Rec are putting on free family Movies in the Park 2 Friday nights each in July, August, and September. Check the Parks & Rec website for dates & more details! 2) Wetmore Park is a new (completed in 2021) splash pad in Sun Prairie that we discovered last summer. Its darling…

June is here! It's time to celebrate summer in Wisconsin. One of the best times of the year, when the cold is finished and before the bugs really start coming out. These are 4 of our family's favorite things to do around Madison in June:

1) Our number one favorite thing to do in June is strawberry picking.

Strawberry season is fairly short and it's super weather dependent, so you really need to put it at the top of your priority list to make sure you find a time to do it. Carandale Fruit Farm is our go-to, located in Oregon. Check their facebook page for daily updates, including the official start to the U-Pick season - they are predicting the start of the season to be around June 9-13 and ending around July 4-10. They will also…

1. Fitchburg Farms, just off Highway 14 between Madison & Oregon, Fitchburg Farms is already bursting with color to add to your garden and front porch. My favorite spot for pre-filled flower pots for your front porch, driveway or deck. They have large and small pots already stocked and designed with the 'thrillers, spillers and fillers' that will bloom all summer long. They also have amazing hanging planters in all colors for shade or sun, and even have a great selection of indoor plants if your curb appeal is the window of your condo!  2. K & A Greenhouse, also in Fitchburg, is another great spot to get plants and trees for your outdoor garden. They have a beautiful selection of flowering and ornamental trees to add height to your landscape…
